Thursday - week 11

Nye started the day off with some more fractions work while I walked Nia to school.

Nye then spent the afternoon building something out of Lego. It's a transition challenge set by his new secondary school.

Nia had a fabulous day!

Thursday - week 14

Nye managed 2 pages of maths: And a lot of reading. He has just finished chapter 12 of Underdogs and he's loving it 📖🤩 There was some lovely co-operation going on this afternoon. Nye and Nia played Lego Harry Potter together on the PS4. Nye has been great at encouraging Nia and teaching her what to do.

Wrapping up the blog - week 16

It's time to wrap up the blog. We're in Leicester, which means we're in local lockdown 😣 Nia had only been going back to school for a few weeks and was settling in to that new routine, so things have been a bit unsettled. Nye has now had to get used to Nia being at home a lot more. Lots of changes without much notice, thanks to Boris. The kids' well-being is our priority right now so school work is on hold. We still have work going on in the garden, so on top of the local lockdown this means we can't relax outside either. The children are doing a lot of reading and playing together. We've enjoyed some family board games and some chocolate brownie baking. Nia has some handwriting, maths and English workbooks to do over the holidays - the fun kind with reward stars, which I know she'll love. Nye has some transition booklets to complete ready for secondary school. They're both really looking forward to starting the new academic year. Fingers crossed it...

Wednesday - week 11

Nye completed a sheet of fractions work today. Nia has decided she would like to return to school. Not mum school, proper school. After contacting the school we are very pleased she can start tomorrow. Nia spent the day getting her uniform ready, filling a pencil case with things she might need, finding her water bottle and bag. She is very excited 😁 We all tidied Nye's bedroom together this afternoon.
