Day 2586489 - Monday (week 8 of lockdown)

Nye was keen to start the day with a science lesson from Miss Simkin. He thinks she is a fun teacher and particularly likes that she gives random facts about penguins in each lesson 😀
Today's lesson was fossils, part of the evolution topic:

I asked Nye to bring me his favourite fossil. He chose this star-shaped crinoid fossil which he found by himself on Charmouth beach, Dorset:

Nia had a phonics lesson. She was very reluctant so Nye helped by joining in to encourage her:

Nye did a few questions on 'big numbers' on MyMaths:

They both then disappeared to play Lego together upstairs.

At lunchtime we watched an episode of Water Life (on Amazon Prime). The series combines the water cycle and geography with wildlife and biology:

It was Nia's job to find a figure from her toy box when she saw one of them on the screen:

We discussed the differences between a tortoise and a turtle as they do look very similar.
